How do I access the park in Llanfallteg?

Llanfallteg Park is located in the centre of the village, behind the village hall and near The Plash Inn pub. You can access the park in one of two ways, either via The Plash Inn car park and using the public footpath which runs around the edge of the car park and beer garden, and down a short gravel path in the bottom left of the beer garden.

Or you can access the park via the tarmac lane to the right hand side of the village hall, which leads to the lane down to the park entrance.

Where can I park my vehicle when visiting the park?

Roadside parking is available near and around the village hall in the middle of Llanfallteg. When parking please ensure you do not block access to peoples drive ways, or to access roads.

Is Llanfallteg park wheelchair and buggy friendly?

Yes, Llanfallteg Park is wheelchair and stroller buggy friendly. Access is available from the roadside via a tarmac path which runs down the right hand side of the village hall. A hard gravel path then leads down to the playing field gate. The entrance gate into the playing field is a dual swing gate, which opens in both directions. A hard tarmac area is located at the top of the playing field, where you will find benches and outdoor exercise equipment, which also includes a wheelchair friendly exercise station. The grass field is firm in spring and summer months, sometimes a bit wet during winter months. Access to the lower part of the playing field is across the grass, or the raise path towards the far end of the field. Please note this raised path has a short, sharp slope at the end to exit the path, so please take care. It may not be suitable for wheelchair users.

Are there toilets at Llanfallteg park?

There are no toilets in the playing field. However the local pub, The Plash Inn does provide facilities for its customers. The village hall has toilets which are only available when the hall is open for public use.

Are Dogs allowed in the park?

Sorry, dogs are strictly not allowed in the playing field at any time, even and especially at organised events such as the annual plant sale, or fun day. There are public footpaths available down to the river Taf, providing extensive walks along the river and countryside.

Is the playing field enclosed?

Llanfallteg Park is an enclosed area, with high fencing all around. It is located away from the road, down a short gravel lane behind the village hall. Access to the playing field is available via one of two gates (one at the main entrance, the other at the bottom right hand side of the field leading to the public footpath and the river Taf). The toddlers area is also mainly enclosed with wooden fencing.

Unfortunately there is no dedicated Wifi, however most mobile network providers have good coverage in and around the playing field.

There are no electric charging points in the playing field, but your welcome to sit down and recharge your own batteries while enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Llanfallteg Park has an accessible fitness equipment item, located on the tarmac area at the top of the Park. We have accessible benches located on the tarmac area.

Can I have a picnic or BBQ in the park?

We welcome park Picnics, however BBQ’s, fire pits, or any gas stoves are not allowed due to risks to you, the park, and other users.
